I write about my search for solace in art and nature, lessons learned often in the most unexpected ways.
I serve and facilitate by applying lessons learned to issues we face, as we navigate the present and future of museums for visitors and for those of us who work within these cherished places.
I have top level experience in museum administration, staff mentoring, board relations, program and exhibition development, civic and community partnerships, organizational and capital planning, with a through line of helping staff and board members do their best work and engage visitors where they are.
As a leader for individuals, teams, and institutions, I focus on organizational development and change management with core values of authenticity, relevance, and purpose. My work with teams follows a structure of discovery, prioritization of goals, finding out what is possible, and delivery of results. Mapping out the work is a process involving multiple stakeholders drawn from staff, trustees, advisors, community partners, and visitors to gather a wide range of information that can be synthesized into a forward-looking plan focused on humankind and wellness in thought and action.
First we get our house in order. My work proves that all museums have the capacity to create the conditions and programs that put visitors at the center, and enhance staff and board commitment to serve their communities.
